Boost Your Energy in Just 3 Minutes with This Breathing Routine
Breathing is one of the most powerful yet underutilized tools we have for increasing energy levels. As coach Tyler from we shape explains, proper breathing can give you "energy on demand whenever you want" without relying on coffee, energy drinks or extra sleep.
Sit Tall and Focus on Your Breath
To do this 3-minute energy boosting breathing routine, Tyler instructs us to "sit nice and Tall" in a comfortable chair or even lying down. The key is keeping your focus directly on your breath by "inhaling as much air as possible and then just letting it go."
Deep Belly Breaths Increase Oxygen
As Tyler explains, "The goal is to breathe in all the way every last bit of air and then exhale and just let it all go." This is done by taking "deep into the belly" breaths to fully expand your lungs. As he says, "we're trying to increase the amount of oxygen and decrease the amount of carbon dioxide in your blood."
Consistency and Pace Are Key
It's important to "keep that steady Breathing Room going for the entire three minutes" at a "nice fast pace." Tyler reminds us to "maintain that consistency" and rhythm of the deep inhales and full exhales.
Be Safe and Listen to Your Body
Tyler warns that "some people get light-headed or dizzy while doing this type of breathing." So he says if that happens to "just stop the breathing pattern and sit still until your body feels comfortable again." Also do this seated and not while standing.
Feel the Energy Flow Through Your Body
As you continue the paced breathing for 3 minutes, Tyler describes how "you might feel your fingertips getting a little tingly you might feel your toes getting a little tingly." This is a sign of the increased oxygen and energy flowing through your body.
Focus and Breathe Deep
Coming into the last minute, Tyler encourages us to "really focus on maintaining that consistency" and take "the biggest breaths we can." He says to keep inhaling "more than you think you can" to get the most energy boost.
Enjoy the Relaxed Feeling Afterwards
Once completed, Tyler instructs to "just sit and relax and enjoy this moment" recognizing how your "body should feel relaxed you should feel fully oxygenated full of energy."
An Energy Boost Anytime You Need
In conclusion, Tyler explains that "anytime you need to pick me up and you need to get that energy that you're after don't reach for a cup of coffee." Instead, come back and do this 3 minute breathing routine for an all-natural energy boost on demand.
