Build Stronger, More Flexible Wrists in Just 2 Minutes a Day

Do you ever notice weakness or tightness in your wrists? Do they bother you when typing or doing other precise movements with your hands? Well, you're not alone. Many people have weak, inflexible wrists these days. But the good news is that you can build strength and flexibility in your wrists fast with a simple daily exercise routine.

Coach Tyler from WeShape recently shared a great wrist strengthening tip: "If you want to have stronger risks, then you need to do this every single day. But don't worry. It only takes a couple minutes." He demonstrated an effective exercise to target both wrist flexion and extension.

Here's how it works:

Start by making fists and bringing your wrists in towards your forearms. Coach Tyler explains, "Now what you should feel here is this muscle right here on the front side of wrist firing a lot. And you should also feel a little bit of a stretch in the back of the hand and possibly in the back of the forearm." Hold for a second, then open your hands wide and stretch your fingers back towards your wrists. "Now, in this position, what you'll feel is the muscles on the backsides of the hands and the fingers, through the top of the wrist, feeling flexed, and the muscles on the bottom of the wrist, possibly through the palm, all the way down into the bottom of the forearm are gonna feel like they're stretching."

After practicing the motion, set a daily reminder to do 1-2 minutes of wrist stretches. Come back and forth between the fist and open hand positions, holding each for a second. Coach Tyler says, "At the end of two minutes, you should feel a pretty big pump in your forearms, on the bottoms, and on the tops, also in your fingers, and your wrist should feel more flexible and mobile as well."

If you make this quick wrist strengthening exercise part of your daily routine, you'll notice big improvements in wrist flexibility and strength. As Coach Tyler sums it up: "If you repeat this movement every single day, you're going to build strength in your wrists. You're gonna build flexibility in your wrists, and your wrists are gonna feel strong amazing."

So don't wait around with weak, inflexible wrists. Commit to just 2 minutes a day of targeted wrist stretches. Along with the other benefits, you'll reduce wrist pain and fatigue when typing or doing precise hand movements. And your wrists will feel strong and mobile again.

Remember, weak wrists are often a sign of overall physical weakness and imbalance. As Coach Tyler says, "If you have tight wrists, if you have weak wrists, well, then it's likely that you have weakness in the rest of your body too." So take a proactive approach to improve your overall fitness. Consider following one of WeShape's customized home workout programs designed to build total body strength, flexibility, balance and coordination.

Don't let weak wrists hold you back any longer! Try this simple daily wrist strengthening routine and take control of your overall fitness.
